OpenSea, the world's largest NFT marketplace, supports multiple wallet connection options — and Formatic Wallet is one of them. Whether you are buying your first NFT or managing a collection, using Formatic on OpenSea allows you to transact without installing any browser extension.
How to Connect Formatic Wallet to OpenSea
Visit opensea.io and click the wallet icon or the "Connect Wallet" button in the top right corner. In the wallet selection screen, look for Formatic in the list of supported wallets. If you do not see it on the main list, check under "More options" or legacy wallet support. Click on Formatic and you will be presented with the Formatic authentication prompt. Enter your registered email address or phone number, verify with the OTP sent to you, and confirm your password. Once authenticated, your Formatic wallet is connected to your OpenSea account and your Ethereum address is associated with your profile.
Buying NFTs with Formatic on OpenSea
Ensure your Formatic wallet has sufficient ETH to cover the NFT price plus gas fees. Browse OpenSea for items you wish to purchase. Click "Buy Now" or "Make Offer" on any listing. Formatic will present a transaction confirmation dialog showing the amount, recipient, and estimated gas fee. Review the details carefully, then approve the transaction. The NFT will appear in your wallet and OpenSea profile once the transaction is confirmed on-chain.
Selling and Transferring NFTs
Some users have reported limitations when selling or transferring NFTs via Formatic on OpenSea. If you encounter issues approving collection contracts or signing listing transactions, ensure your Formatic session is active and not expired. Re-authenticate if necessary. For persistent issues, the OpenSea community suggests switching to a full wallet provider or contacting OpenSea support directly, as certain contract approval flows may have limited compatibility with some Formatic versions.
Important Notes
Always verify you are on the official opensea.io domain before connecting your wallet. Be wary of phishing sites mimicking OpenSea's interface. Never approve transactions you did not initiate. Since Formatic does not currently support a fiat gateway, you will need to acquire ETH from an exchange and transfer it to your Formatic Ethereum address before making purchases on OpenSea.
